Teach like you're side by side , from anywhere.
Tutorboard is a shared whiteboard and video call made for one-to-one lessons. Draw together in real time, talk face to face, hand your student a real calculator, and save the whole lesson, they join from any browser, nothing to install.
Free for 14 days · No card to start · Tutor app for macOS · Students join from any browser
One tab. The whole tutoring room.
No juggling Zoom, a whiteboard app, a scanner and a calculator. Tutorboard puts them in a single shared space you and your student both control.
A whiteboard that feels real
Pressure-sensitive pen, highlighter, a text tool, shapes that snap tidy, and a laser pointer. Two erasers, wipe a whole stroke or rub out just part of one. Drop in an image or open a PDF and write straight over it.
Face-to-face, end-to-end encrypted
Voice and video are encrypted end-to-end and never recorded by us. See you and your student side by side in one panel; on locked-down school networks a relay keeps the call reliable (still encrypted, never seen by us).
Real exam-style calculators, shared live
Hand your student a GCSE scientific or A-Level scientific calculator on screen, matching the ones they use in exams. You see every key they press, perfect for teaching proper calculator technique.
Waiting room & private links
Every student gets their own unguessable link. They wait until you let them in, one student at a time, no one wandering into the wrong lesson.
You're always in control
Decide if a student can draw, protect your own writing from their eraser, and mute or turn off their mic and camera when you need the room to settle.
Mic & camera checks
A quick level check confirms audio is actually coming through before the lesson starts, and again for the student while they wait, so no more "can you hear me?".
Record & keep every lesson
Record the board, calculator and video to your own computer. Save each whiteboard and export tidy PDFs to send afterwards, filed per student.
Lesson reports & homework, written for you
On Premium, Tutorboard transcribes the lesson on your Mac and turns it into a lesson report and homework using your own ChatGPT or Claude — no extra cost. Saved as a tidy Word doc and PDF, filed per student.
Reaches students anywhere
Teaching a student in China, Russia, Iran or another restricted network? One tick routes them around the blocks so the lesson connects. Included in Premium, or £2/month on Base.
Never lose a board
Every student's whiteboards are filed in their own folder. On Premium they're backed up to your private account, so they follow you to a new Mac or after a reinstall.
Nothing for students to install
They click a link and they're in: iPad with Apple Pencil, a laptop, even a phone. Works whether they draw, type, or just watch and talk.
From link to lesson in under a minute.
Add your student
Type their name and Tutorboard creates a private room and a link that's theirs alone. Send it once and they can reuse it every week.
Let them in
When they open the link they land in your waiting room. You get a notification, admit them, and you're both on the same board.
Teach, then save
Draw, talk, share the calculator, work through past papers. When you're done, record, export a PDF, or start a fresh board for next time.
The calculator on their desk, on the screen.
Pick the model that matches your student's real device so they build the same muscle memory. You watch every keypress live and correct technique in the moment.
Built for teaching children.
Tutoring means working with young people, so privacy isn't a setting, it's the default. Lessons live on your own computer, and no one reaches your student without you.
✓ End-to-end encrypted calls
Video and audio are encrypted end-to-end and never recorded or seen by us, even when a relay is used on restricted networks.
✓ You admit every student
Private, unguessable links plus a waiting room mean only the people you let in are ever on the board.
✓ Your files stay yours
Recordings and PDFs are written to your own Mac. Whiteboards save there too, and only if you're on Premium are they backed up, to your own private account.

Good to know
Do my students need to download anything? +
No. You send a link and they open it in any browser (Safari, Chrome, Edge) on an iPad, laptop or phone. Only you (the tutor) install the app.
What can students use to draw? +
An Apple Pencil on iPad (with pressure and palm rejection), a mouse or trackpad, or a finger. Students who never draw can still talk, watch, and use the calculator.
Is it safe for tutoring children? +
Yes, that's the point. Video and audio are end-to-end encrypted and never recorded by us, each student has a private unguessable link, and no one joins your board until you admit them from the waiting room.
Where do recordings and boards go? +
Recordings and exported PDFs are written straight to a folder on your own Mac, organised per student. Whiteboards save there too, and on Premium they're also backed up to your own private account so they follow you to a new Mac or after a reinstall.
Is the tutor a Mac app? +
Yes, the tutor app is on the Mac App Store. Students never install anything, they join from any browser on iPad, laptop, Windows or phone. A Windows tutor app is on the way.
How do I subscribe or cancel? +
Billing is handled by the Mac App Store, so you can start, change or cancel any time from your Apple account. The free trial won't charge you, and there's no lock-in.
Your next lesson could be on Tutorboard.
